Unit III. The Bold and The Bashful



The Bold and The Bashful. 

This lesson was an interesting one. I have to admit that I have never heard these two words BOLD and BASHFUL, but thanks to my wonderful teacher now I know the meaning of these to words.

 A bold is an extrovert, outgoing and fearless person.

A Bashful is a shy, timid, reticent and introvert person. 

 Let me share with you all the vocabulary that I learned from this lesson.

2. Phobia                              4. Extroverted                             6.  Chronic

10. Aloof                              12. Condescending
Now, I am going to write sentences using these words above.

My friend Carlos was reticent to talk about the problem.

I never realized that my friend Ana had a phobia to talk in public.

My mother is a great teacher, so she deserves all the merit.

On my trip to Nicaragua, I found my kindred soul.

Anthony is aloof because he is feeling sick.

Linda is very extroverted. She is always meeting new people and looking for new things to try.

The journalists always make misattributions about famous people.

Hilda was very condescending with her best friend.

On page 161 of our text book we find an explanation of the grammar talking about verb + gerund or infinitive, which says that using the same verb among gerund or infinitive the meaning will be different, but it does not apply to all the verbs. I will write the examples with my own words. Verb + gerund She will never forget getting a ride into a haunted castle . Meaning: She will not erase that experience of her mind. They remember switching the lights off when they went on vacations . Meaning: Talking about the past. Verb + infinitive The lights were all burned because he forgot to switch off  the control panel .      There is a great controversy regarding the monitoring of jobs. Employers regularly feel the need to monitor their employees, because they are paying a time that must be used for the tasks for which they are paying. Sometimes workers are intentionally delayed, and they can also use the company's resources for personal tasks. Unit 6 Spiritual Renuval

     In the time we live, people have hundreds of goals that lead them to enroll in hundreds of activities. To fulfill a goal such as buying a car, a house, a new telephone, filling people with satisfaction, the accumulation of material goods has become the way in which society measures success. But there is a very important aspect that has been left aside, and it is the spirit. This is like a container that is filling as we live. It is like filling a container with figures of different shapes, even if it is completed to the top it will always have empty spaces, but if water is poured, it will fill it completely.
