There is a great controversy
regarding the monitoring of jobs. Employers regularly feel the need to monitor
their employees, because they are paying a time that must be used for the tasks
for which they are paying. Sometimes workers are intentionally delayed, and
they can also use the company's resources for personal tasks. This motivates
owners and / or bosses to use certain forms of surveillance, which can range
from security cameras to blocking certain content on the network to maximize
productivity. On the other hand, there is the fact that surveillance can have
an opposite effect on employees. The sensation produced by knowing that every action
you take will be monitored, can create great tension, even anxiety in people.
The boundaries between surveillance and stalking are very narrow and can be
enclosed from time to time. For this reason there are certain statutes
dedicated to supervising and guaranteeing privacy in workplaces, such as The
Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) and organizations such as The
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
